ADC Defames the Palestinian Arab People
JUNE 29, 2006 - The Free Palestine Alliance (FPA) calls on all to
condemn in the strongest terms the ongoing campaign of colonial terror
waged by the Israeli occupation forces, and to stand in clear
solidarity with the Palestinian Arab people at this critical time.
We further call on all Arab Americans and people of conscience to
reject the cowardly position of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination
Committee (ADC) as stated in its press release of June 28, 2006. We
further declare that just as their leadership has recently confirmed in
this last statement, ADC does not in any way represent or speak on
behalf of the Palestinian and Arab American community.
As scores of Palestinian government ministers, democratically-elected
members of parliament and mayors are being kidnapped and imprisoned,
and as Israeli colonial forces spread destruction, death and massive
mayhem against the Palestinian Arab people everywhere, the ADC
leadership has the audacity to mirror the position of the US State
Department and condemn the Palestinian resistance movement.
The ADC also equates Israeli colonial policies with the resistance of
the Palestinian Arab people, a position even the tired and corrupt Arab
regimes did not dare to take. The ADC uses terms such as Israeli
"retaliation," refers to the capturing of an Israeli occupation soldier
as "abduction," and calls for "Israeli restraint," employing the very
same political language used by US propagandists that shift the blame
to the victims.
Lest the ADC and its leadership forget, on the very same day their
shameful statement was issued, 64 high ranking Palestinian elected
officials were kidnapped. They will be added to the nearly 9,000
Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prison camps including hundreds of
children. Since 1967, over 650,000 Palestinians have been illegally
detained, amounting to 40% of the male population of the Palestinian
West Bank and Gaza Strip.
As we stand firmly against the US-backed Israeli policies of
destruction, the Palestinian and Arab community must also stand against
those seeking to destroy our consensus from within. This so-called
Arab-American organization is slowly and methodically bent on injecting
defeat and perverted political language into our proud community. This
is a process that only serves to disgrace and dis-empower our people
during this very difficult time.

Common Breast Cancer Myths
The first myth pertaining to this disease is that it only affects women.
Second myth that is associated with this disease is that if one has found a lump during an examination, it is cancer.
Third is that it is solely hereditary
The next myth associated with breast cancer is downright ridiculous. Would you believe, that in this day and age, some individuals still think that breast cancer is contagious?
Conversely, some individuals foolishly believe that breast size determines whether or not one gets cancer.
Finally, another myth that is associated with this disease is that it only affects older people. This is not so. Although the chance of getting breast cancer increases with age, women as young as 18 have been diagnosed with the disease.
