Fwd: Lynne Stewart: 28 months, free on bail pending appeal

Hello All,

The Lynne Stewart Defense Committee is writing to let you know for those that don’t know yet that Lynne received a sentence of 28 months and is free on bail pending appeal. We are very relieved that Lynne didn’t get hit with a harsh sentence and so thankful for all the wonderful letters, support, prayers and People power that brought us to this day. You all are very much a part of this outcome and we propose that we continue to harness this momentum and carry it on to the continuing fight for social justice, to stop Bush, to end the war in Iraq, the fight for the Constitution and Bill of Rights, to reinstate of Habeus Corpus, the rights of prisoners, immigrants, to repeal the USA Patriot Act, there is so much to do. We are planning an event to express our joy that Lynne remains out here in the world with us, and our intention to keep fighting for justice in the world at large. The court transcript of the sentencing hearing on October 16th will be on the website as will some of the wonderful letters that were written on Lynne’s behalf. The struggle continues.

Thanks again.

Pat Levasseur,

The Lynne Stewart Defense Committee.
