JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Judicial Externship

The Hon. Oliver W. Wanger, U.S. District Judge, Eastern District of California Fresno Division is seeking qualified individuals for a summer externship in his chambers.  Judge Wanger has the busiest docket in the United States and any judicial extern will be assured of substantive work experience in a number of areas, including civil rights, environmental law, first amendment, commerce clause disputes, and an array of criminal matters.  If you are a first or second year student interested in exposure to the inner workings of judicial chambers, please email YOUR cover letter, resume, and writing sample to lcoffman@caed. uscourts. gov.  All your E-MAILED materials can be addressed to:

Folks,

 

I'm sending this again because I have heard that only two, yes two (2), people of color have applied for this incredible opportunity.  Again, if you read the announcement carefully, you will notice that they are NOT asking for a transcript.

 

Thus, if you want to take advantage of this rare opportunity to work inside a federal chambers, you need to apply.  Also, if you are dragging ass - let me remind you that you need to do it ASAP (i.e. next could of days).  If you are letting your insecurities get the best for you - then I'm sorry to say that there isn't anything I can do for you.  It's an absolute shame that people are not absolutely jumping on this.
