Subject: AETA Forum on Capitol Hill on Wednesday
Hello!
After the passage of AETA last November, Equal Justice Alliance has begun a number of initiatives (see noaeta.org or EqualJusticeAlliance.com). We are increasing public awareness regarding AETA's potential infringement of First Amendment rights.
We are also increasing awareness in Congress and have scheduled a panel to talk about AETA this Wednesday (see promo below). We are honored to have Representative Kucinich who spoke on First Amendment rights on the House floor during the vote and who voted against AETA. We are also honored to have on our panel Heidi Boghosian, Executive Director of the National Lawyers Guild and Will Potter, an award-winning journalist and who testified in opposition to AETA during the single House hearing.
To motivate Congressional members and their staff to attend, it would be great if you would call your Representatives and Senators' offices to voice your opposition to AETA and ask that they attend. Although we've notified them, your voice will carry more weight since you are their constituent.
Also, we are seeking assistance in a number of areas, so let me know if you'd like to help.
Best regards,
Odette
