Yesterday at Union Square in New York, people rallied in solidarity with the demonstrators in Iran. Here's a report back by TUPOCC member Adrienne Wheeler:
There were a couple hundred people and a sea of green in Union Square. The general tenor was a call to stop the killing (in Farsi and in English). There was also a common childhood song from Iran about kids sticking together when the teacher is beating one with the alphabet stick. (My friend translated; I dont speak Farsi.)
Some signs were about the elections. Many held signs that read "I am Neda" or some variation. Neda also means voice in Farsi.
