Perhaps it's ridiculous of me to attempt a comment about the film based solely on the trailer. So be it. Juding only from that trailer, the film is a powerful critique of the execution of the invasion and occupation of Iraq that, apparently, skips entirely any political critique of the war. According to the movie, the insurgency is not a response to/result of the invasion and occupation itself, but rather to the mistakes in execution. If only we'd sent more troops and more money, there'd be no insurgency. "Forced regime change could have worked. No surprise, there, nor from the warm reception the film is getting and likely to continue getting from the "liberal media" (that is, the Democrats and their supporters).
When the politics leads to a disaster, the ruling class steps in with its own auto-critique of execution precisely in order to avoid facing any significant political critique. I hope the Left gives this movie an appropriate reception.
