ATtorney Job Posting
Women Empowered Against Violence (WEAVE) invites applications for a full time attorney position in Washington, DC.
The attorney will provide legal representation to survivors of domestic violence in civil protection order, custody, child support, divorce and immigration matters. Additional responsibilities include community education; training and mentoring pro bono attorneys and interns; and systemic advocacy. The position may also include supervisory or program management duties depending on the interest and experience of the successful applicant.
Qualifications include D.C. Bar membership or eligibility to waive in; strong communication and litigation skills; commitment to empowering domestic violence survivors; the ability to work well with diverse clients and colleagues; compassion; high ethical standards; and a sense of humor. Domestic violence, sexual assault, family law, poverty law, or immigration experience preferred. Fluency in Spanish, Amharic, American Sign Language or another language in addition to English is a bonus. WEAVE is open to entry-level applicants as well as more experienced attorneys interested in supervision and/or management roles.
Compensation includes a competitive non-profit salary, generous benefits, and eligibility to apply for D.C.‚s Loan Repayment Assistance Program.
